Dedicated donations

Dedicated donations are voluntary donations from godparents that we organize twice a year: in April and October. Godfathers then pay for the purchase of necessities such as beans, rice, soap, cutlery (spoon), shoes and mattresses, or the purchase of a goat. Collected donations are handed over to the children’s family.

Before leaving for Rwanda, we send a detailed list of donations to all school principals, so upon our arrival at the school, it is known exactly to whom what goes during the distribution. The director calls on the parents of the godchildren that (due to the weight) they can take the contents of the dedicated donations, but also for safety reasons, because unfortunately there is also the possibility of robbery.

Goats serve as the only meat these children will eat for half a year. The goat is most often kept for special occasions such as communion, confirmation or weddings. Goat’s milk is used only for newborns and the sick. Unfortunately, there is no possibility of longer storage and preservation of meat or making dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.

Together we can protect vulnerable children

Through our project, every child gets a godfather who cares for them. Children know this, so with the certainty that they will survive, they have a different and better upbringing.

Dedicated donations

We don’t buy knives and forks because they don’t know how to use them, so injuries can occur. We only buy spoons because using them reduces the possibility of infection. Only three years ago – everyone ate with their hands. Unfortunately, all other children still eat with their hands, so they are exposed to infections much more than the children included in the Roadmap project.

Now all schools have spoons, and so do the families of Putokaz godchildren, because through dedicated donations, the godfathers buy spoons for the godchildren’s households as well.

The soaps we procure through this part of the project are used for personal hygiene, prevention of infections, and also for washing the few clothes they own.

Mattresses are a big priority for us in order to change life for the better. Even “richer families” sleep on mats less than a centimeter thick, while the rest lie on the bare ground, which increases the risk of disease and infection even more. Some children lie down on a mattress for the first time at the age of ten or fifteen. Their happiness is indescribable to be raised at least ten centimeters from the ground, so three children often sleep on one mattress.

Help that changes lives

Every donation represents a seed that can grow into a miraculous tree of hope. Contribute too. Watch the future of African children grow.

With your contribution, you are fundamentally changing the lives of African children

Parents in Rwanda cannot afford shoes for their children. The godfathers of Putokaza buy shoes – and most often they are ordinary plastic slip-ons that children use for two or three years.

A family has an average of five to ten members. It’s heartwarming to know that we can’t go wrong with shoe size. Whichever number you buy – it suits someone. If not the child for whom it is intended, then it will suit brothers, sisters or neighbors – because everyone needs them equally.
They don’t take off their shoes all day for fear of theft.

Every donation has an inestimable value – regardless of the amount. It has the power to stop tears, replace them with smiles and revive the spark of hope in their eyes.

Follow us on this journey of transformation. Be part of the story of change. Your support is not just a donation; it’s about providing a chance for a better future, not just for the children of Rwanda, but for the world we want to see – filled with compassion and love.

Your donation makes a difference

Give children access to an education that will provide them with the key to unlocking the door to success.

Dedicated donations

Payment is possible by money order or via PayPal. Payment of earmarked donations is made separately from godparent donations.

Under the description of the payment, godparents must enter information such as the name and surname of the godchildren, the number of the godchild, the number of the school and all the products they have paid for. An example would be: “DESCRIPTION OF PAYMENT: 1 X Bean, 2 X Goat, 10 X Spoon, 1 X Mattress” and similar.

Confirmation of payment must be sent to the e-mail address: donacije@putokazzaafriku.com

Every day, children in Rwanda face difficult and devastating challenges, but together we can ensure a brighter future for them. That’s why every donation has an inestimable value – regardless of the amount. It has the power to stop tears, replace them with smiles and revive the spark of hope in their eyes.
